Elizabeth Gomez Alcorta is an Argentine lawyer and human rights activist, who is currently serving as the Minister of Women, Gender, and Diversity in the Cabinet of President Alberto Fernández. She was born on June 24, 1972, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Alcorta holds a degree in Law from the University of Buenos Aires. She began her career as a lawyer defending human rights and working on cases related to gender violence, discrimination, and labor law. In addition, she has worked as a legal consultant for various organizations, including the United Nations Development Programme and the International Labor Organization.

Throughout her career, Alcorta has been a strong advocate for women's rights and gender equality. She has served as the Director of Legal Affairs at the National Institute Against Discrimination, Xenophobia, and Racism (INADI), and was a member of the team that drafted the Argentine Gender Identity Law in 2012.

In November 2019, Alcorta was appointed as the Minister of Women, Gender, and Diversity, becoming the first woman to hold this position in the history of Argentina. In this role, she has been working to promote gender equality and tackle pressing social issues affecting women and minorities in the country, such as femicide, abortion, and LGBTQ+ rights.
